The History of Dry Cleaning Service

Of late the requirement of dry cleaners is high due to the combination of high technology and instant service, which help keeping expensive clothes in good condition. Dry-cleaning is an old process, so have you ever thought how it started?

The father of dry cleaning is Jean Baptiste Jolly, a Frenchman, who invented this in the 19th century. It was a coincidence, accidently some kerosene got spilled on the tablecloth by his maid. The next day, Jean noticed that part of the tablecloth looked cleaner and this is how he got the idea of "dry cleaning service".

The Solvent Process
